Unlike positivist or experimental research that utilizes a linear and one-directional sequence of design steps, there is considerable variation in how a qualitative research study is organized. In general, qualitative researchers attempt to describe and interpret human behavior based primarily on the words of selected individuals [a.k.a., “informants” or “respondents”] and/or through the interpretation of their material culture or occupied space. There is a reflexive process underpinning every stage of a qualitative study to ensure that researcher biases, presuppositions, and interpretations are clearly evident, thus ensuring that the reader is better able to interpret the overall validity of the research. According to Maxwell (2009), there are five, not necessarily ordered or sequential, components in qualitative research designs. How they are presented depends upon the research philosophy and theoretical framework of the study, the methods chosen, and the general assumptions underpinning the study. Show

What kind of characteristic of qualitative research that examine the data yielded by the internal traits of the subject individuals?INTERNAL ANALYSIS Examining the data yielded by the internal traits of the subject individual Studying people's perception or views about the topic In case of objects, the investigation centers on underlying theories or principles that govern these materials and their usefulness to people. 17.
What are the characteristics of a qualitative research study?Generally, qualitative research is concerned with cases rather than variables, and understanding differences rather than calculating the mean of responses. In-depth interviews, focus groups, case studies, and open-ended questions are often employed to find these answers.
What type data is characteristic of qualitative research?Qualitative data describes qualities or characteristics. It is collected using questionnaires, interviews, or observation, and frequently appears in narrative form. For example, it could be notes taken during a focus group on the quality of the food at Cafe Mac, or responses from an open-ended questionnaire.
What type of qualitative research involves the examination of primary documents to make you understand the connection of past events to the present time?Historical Analysis
Central to this qualitative research method is the examination of primary documents to make you understand the connection of past events to the present time.
