„NCIS: L.A.“-Set-Koordinator Mike Brooks (†46) bereicherte seit 2009 den Filmstab rund um LL Cool J (50), Linda Hunt (73) und Co. Im November dieses Jahres verstarb Mike, der an insgesamt 200 Episoden „Navy CIS: L.A.“ mitgewirkt hatte. Grund genug, dem Crew-Mitglied die letzte Ehre zu erweisen.

Am Ende der „Navy CIS: L.A.“-Episode „Joyride“ entschied man sich, in die Credits „Rest in Peace Mike Brooks“ einzubauen, um dem herben Verlust Ausdruck zu verleihen. Die Folge wurde am 16. Dezember in den USA ausgestrahlt.

Mike Brooks hatte in seiner 25 Jahre langen Karriere nicht nur „Navy CIS: L.A.“ bereichert, sondern arbeitete als Set-Koordinator auch an „Jurassic Park“ oder „Buffy – Im Bann der Dämonen“. Eine Todesursache wurde nicht bekanntgegeben.

Innerhalb des „Navy CIS: L.A.“-Universums musste im Laufe der zehnten Staffel ebenfalls auf einen Fan-Liebling verzichtet werden. Linda Hunt spricht über „Hettys“ Verschwinden aus der Serie, beteuert dabei aber auch, dass ihr Charakter NCIS: L.A. erhalten bleibt.
