Number of needed subnets: 750 Network Address: 190.35.0.0 What is the address class? What is the default subnet mask for that class? What is the custom subnet mask for these specifications? What is the total number of subnets created? What is the total number of host addresses created? What is the total number of usable host addresses created? How many bits were borrowed for this subnet scheme? What is the 15th subnet range? What is the subnet number for the 13th subnet? What is the subnet broadcast address for the 1st subnet? What are the assignable addresses for the 1st subnet?

What is an invalid subnet mask?

The purpose of a subnet mask is to demarcate the portion of the IP address that contains location information and the portion that contains identity information. The reason why the mask given is invalid is because it is not contiguous. The binary representation looks like this: 1111 1111.1111 1111.1111 1111.0100 0000.

    Is 255.0 255.0 a valid subnet mask?

The maximum values represent the network identifier and the minimum values represent the host identifier. For example, 255.255. 0.0 is a valid subnet mask as opposed to 255.0. 255.0.

Why is 255.255 249.0 not a valid subnet mask?

It's not a valid subnet mask because it doesn't define a prefix. If you convert it to binary, you'll see that its '1'-bits (and/or its '0'-bits) are not all contiguous. This is explicitly forbidden by RFC 4632 (part of the CIDR specification).

What is an invalid IP address?

The message "Invalid IP Address" indicates a problem with your computer's network setup. Every computer that uses an Ethernet-type network, such as the Internet, has an Internet Protocol address that lets other computers communicate with it. Without a valid IP address your computer cannot use the network.
